I wanted to try out a new chocolote cookie recipe that I found on the internet (thank you LilaLoa!) and I also wanted to try out a buttercream recipe for the icing. I LOVE the taste of buttercream, and I loved working with this icing, even though it doesn't dry as quickly as the icing I usually use. I think I am going to keep playing with the recipe until I get it right, because the taste is delicious. :) I made these just for practice, so I decorated them with the initials of Jake's and Noah's teachers at school.....so they'll have a nice little treat on Thursday. :)

Hello Kitty
My friend Kendra ordered cookies for her daughter Olivia's birthday party. It was a Hello Kitty theme, so we did Hello Kitty, balloons to match the invitation, and 'O's for Olivia.
Don't know why this one looks so yellow......
Thank you so much, Kendra!! happy birthday to your precious girl!!!

Chicago!
My brother-in-law, Santiago, is moving to Chicago for a year to get his MBA at Northwestern. My sis-in-law Monique threw him a going-away party today and I was really happy when she said I could bring cookies. :) So I did a "Chicago" platter......."Ns" for Northwestern and the logo for the Cubs, with a few message cookies in between. :)
We are so proud of Santiago and so excited for his future!! Good luck SG :)
