Wedding shower cookies

We had a wedding shower for my sister-in-law Amanda, so it was the perfect opportunity for me to practice using my "wedding dress" and ring cookie cutters. So many times I have an idea in my head, and the cookie just doesn't turn out like I want or hope. (I know I am my own worst critic....) Luckily these came out almost just like I imagined them, so I was pretty excited about that!

(I don't know why the pictures don't show up--you have to click on the little box to see it!)

I wanted to take a few different pictures to show the different designs

I need photography classes--I never know how to get the lighting or the camera setting just right!

This is how they were packaged for favors :)

And a few shots of the cookie bites.....I love making these little ones!

More Shamrocks

In honor of St. Patty's Day tomorrow, I made a few more shamrocks. It's hard to come up with lots of different ways to decorate one! :)

Superhero cookies!

My birthday boy (how is he FOUR already??!!) wanted a "superhero" theme for his party, so I made some cookies to take. Initially, I was going to make them as party favors for the kids, but I nixed that idea and set them out on a platter for the parents, thinking they might appreciate the effort a little more. :)

Here's the whole platter--I did some "J"s and "4"s too!

I was pretty proud of my little "Super Jake." :) I know he's far from perfect, but I thought he turned out kinda cute. Thanks to Bridget from 'Bake at 350' for the inspiration!!!

Cute little stickers I ordered off of Etsy to match the theme.

The real, non-cookie (but just as sweet) Super Jake! :)

Birthday cookies

These are for my sister's friend Janeta (who is so cute) for her birthday. I feel the need to add a disclaimer, though......we were originally going to go with all leopard print cookies, but then she found these really cute plates and napkins that had symbols on them (you know the ones that represent bad words?) So then she decided she wanted cookies with those symbols on them instead. It was a cute order and fun to do!

I added a few leopard-print J's just for fun :)

Another view of the platter!

All ready to go!

Happy Birthday Janeta!! Hope you have a wonderful night!!!! :)

Cupcakes

My friend Tina ordered cupcake cookies to take to her sister-in-law for her 60th birthday. The birthday girl loves the color purple, so I tried to incorporate that as much as possible.

She also ordered two dozen cookie bites, so here are a few of those. I tried to choose the other colors to complement purple, so I decided on green and yellow, thinking that would look nice. But when I showed hubby the completed ones, he said "Ooh, Mardi Gras cookies!" I hadn't even realized that I had chosen the exact colors of Mardi Gras. Oops. :)

Thank you again so much Tina!!! I hope you guys have a wonderful trip! :)

Shamrocks :)

I wanted to try out a chocolate sugar recipe I found online, and also try out my new shamrock cookie cutter, so today seemed like as good a day as any. :) The cookie is good, although I am not crazy about it. I guess I am just a plain ol' sugar cookie kind of girl. Hubby, however, gives it rave reviews. Good thing there were a lot of mess-ups for him to eat. :)

Rock Star Butterflies

When Sandy told me that her granddaughter requested "Rock star butterflies" for her 6th birthday, I was a little worried since I told her I didn't know how to do them! I googled the term and nothing concrete came up, so I felt a little relieved that it's not just that I am getting older and am too uncool to know what that is. I mean, I probably am uncool, but anyway...... :) I was still worried, though, because I wanted them to be something she would like. So I took the colors she had in mind (pink, purple and yellow) and just went with it. Here is my take on the "Rock star butterfly"......

Some cookie bites in the same colors

All packaged up and ready to go to the party!

I had to show off my cute new stickers. :)

Thank you so much Sandy!! I hope your granddaughter likes them and that she has a wonderful birthday party!!
And I know this isn't related to butterflies, but I was so excited and had to share. My wonderful aunt Susie sent me these two books (it's so exciting to get a surprise at your door!) and I could not be more happy. I have been wanting the one on the left after reading about it online, but had no luck finding it at a book store around here, and the second one is just so cute and has such cool things in it. Thank you Susie--I love them and I love you! :)
